Max Capps Chop Lord Decks Are Back

Max Capps has been in the game for a long while as a top level skater but what most people don’t realize is that chopping boards got him into the game in the first place. Since the mid-2000’s, Max has tried to make the most out of every board by modifying them to have special functionality.

Back in May while he was in British Columbia to race Danger Bay, Max made a trip back to Flatspot to chop up a few boards and we asked Tyler Topping to snap some photos and help us tell the story. // read more

Tuesday Techslide Session With Photographer Patricio Cartas

While Tuesday Techslide Sessions never died off in winter, the longer, dryer, warmer nights of spring have brought a resurgence of skaters out to the spot to have some fun. Sure we call it Techslide, but truely the session is open to soft and hard wheels and skaters of all age and skill level. A regular weekly session at the same spot makes for a reliable place for skaters to gather and meet to work on skills of all kinds, including some extremely talented locals who frequent the gathering. // read more

With Vancouver Plaza under fire with new developments in the area, New Westminister’s Queensborough Park is in the midst of debating their new home and it now seems the City of North Vancouver (home of our beloved City Fest) is now going to redevelop the Lonsdale Skate Park and is looking for feedback. // read more

Techslide Tuesday Sessions Heating Up for Spring

Techslide Tuesday has been happening pretty much all Winter, but it takes a special kind of masochist to throw themselves to cold pavement in the rain and in the dark. Big ups to everyone who did make it out over the darkest and wettest days of the year, you’re the real MVPs!

For those that need a little more light and warmth, the season is on it’s way and the past few weeks have been both dry and receiving of a sun-set as the session gets going. The session has been growing in numbers and lasting a bit longer. Now is definitely the time to get out and put some work in if you have any plans to hit up the Danger Bay Slide comp just a few short weeks away. Registration opened today on April 1st, not a joke!
