The Upcycle Project was born in spring the of 2013. On Comets first visit to PSSTIX, legendary skateboard manufacturer Paul Schmitt showed them a 5000 cubic foot dumpster full of veneer scraps. It all clicked. Comet asked Paul if we could make boards 100% out of that veneer if we spliced it together. Paul had the equipment already and just needed Comet to make the shapes and bring the message to skaters. Which brings us to today.
Skating as a form of commuting is good. Its better than driving places. Skating for fun is good, its better than boosting around on motor boats or rallying big ass trucks. And now, you can have your low impact (environmentally that is) fun in an even more environmentally conscious way. The Comet Upcycle board is made entirely of scrap veneers that were destined to be nothing cool at all. Think about it, if you were a scrap of wood wouldn’t you want to be a skateboard?

If you are interested in recycled and repurposed skate waste, you will definitely be stoked on basically anything that James West makes. Check out his find wood working, using only thrashed old decks as his medium!
Hi! Welcome to the flatspot weekly. This is where you can find a solid overview of everything recently rad and awesome at the shop. Plus some more thrown in here and there.
The No Future Van Death is essentially a shreddable tomb stone for the beloved No Future Van. RIP Van, you were a good van.
The Rayne Phantom is long enough to go fast, short enough to pop, and equipped with enough tail to get techy. If you aren’t one for big quivers, this may be your answer.

Thanks google. Well, there you have it. The Loaded Kanthaka was the trusty steed of the Holy Buddha. Maybe this is alluding to how skateboarding is meditative, and somehow aids in ones pursuit of enlightenment. Maybe its just a sweet name that sort of sounds like an asian sword. Either way, its a sweet deck that shines most tech sliding, due to its flare wheel wells and deep concave. But is more than suitable for bowls and parks. The bamboo fibreglass construction make it super stiff, and if you rock a set of tail guards to prevent razer tail it will last basically forever.

Available in Wide and Narrow
Length: 36” (91.44cm)
Width: 8.625” (21.908cm) OR 8.875” (22.416cm)
Wheelbase: 17.5” (44.45cm)
Kick length: 7.5” (19.05cm) tip to inner bolt
Pools, parks, ditches, curbs, barriers, ledges, stairs, rails, coping, noping, pole jams, pot holes and sewer grates. These are some of the things you can smash this board into, over, through and under. And just as a scientist can only tell you how to make an atom bomb, not whether or not to use it. No Future will not tell you what to skate or not, just provide you with a deck you can DESTROY THE WORLD WITH – AHAHAHAAA!!!!

To make sure you get the absolute most out of your deck, independent trucks are a where its at. To get the most out of your indys, toss the stock bushings and immediately rock a set of Bones Hardcore Bushings. They give you all the turn and none of the wheelbite. Bones SPF formula is a great balance between traction and speed for the park, and the pig rails will prolong the life of this lovely plank. The TSG Force III knee pads will prolong the life of your beloved knees!
