Description
Pantheon Longboards – Trip “Whale” – Distance Push Deck
The Pantheon Trip is our most familiar and longest standing double drop longboard designed for fun commuting and long distance efficiency. This new Pantheon Trip has an impeccable “Whale” graphic, and an updated Pre-preg fiberglass construction in two flexes: light and heavy.
The Trip has gone through years of iterations since its first inception in 2015. The newest shaping features a 1.2-inch “crescent drop,” a Canadian maple core, and various composite materials. The Pantheon Trip remains the best double drop commuter deck on the market for most riders, because it is low, nimble, lightweight, and couples with huge wheels to roll over just about everything in its path.
The Whale Trip is our newest construction that we first tested en masse with the Portal Pranayama. Pre-preg fiberglass on both top and bottom act as a protective structural shell, much like the applewood veneer of the Fields Trip, except that the pre-preg glass is actually quite structural. The deck features additional wet-laid triaxial fiberglass underneath both the top and bottom layers. This construction has proven to be our most durable ever. And the added structural composite material allows us to reduce a maple core ply for a little added flex in the body of the board without reducing strength. This construction is our “Light” flex, and then when we add back in the extra ply, this board becomes our “Heavy” flex, which is good for most riders up to about 260 lbs or so (ultimately a product of riding style and conditions, but we feel good about that 260 lb recommendation, and you may be able to push it a little). The Light flex has been tested up to 195 lbs at length. Riders of that weight will likely prefer the heavy flex for its stability, but the Light flex board is strong enough to take the weight.
LONGBOARD SPECS

Width: 9″ / 22.9 cm
Wheelbase: 27.25″ / 69.6 cm

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN – The Trip’s outline shape is cut to maximize usable surface area and minimize the chance of wheelbite. A slightly tapered waist complements the camber profile for a subtle suspension effect. The open-ended nose and tail provide flexural relief, protection against impact damage, and ease of assembly. Neutral truck mounting angles simplify setup while offering a versatile starting point for customization.
CURVACEOUS CONFIDENCE – Pantheon’s highly functional crescent drop lowers the center of gravity and stiffens the drops for efficient pushing while also providing enhanced lateral support and general ergonomics. The drop also allows for effortless slide initiation to control speed in common settings like hilly urban environments or paths and trails. Mustache rocker profile combines subtle camber at the deck’s midpoint with rocker under the feet. The localized camber pairs with the slightly tapered waist to provide suspension characteristics while allowing the rest of the board to remain stiff for optimum control. Mellow radial concave provides an ideal balance of edge control and riding comfort. The junctions between concave and crescent drop create three-dimensional pockets for secure and intuitive ergonomics.
SNAPPY, LIGHT, & LOW – The Trip is a low riding steeze machine that is efficient and effective for all of your commuting and distance riding needs. A 6-ply maple core is sandwiched between layers of triaxial fiberglass with a protective wood veneer on the bottom so that you don’t scratch that structural composite layer on curbs. This layup results in a thin, stiff, and lightweight structure with snappy, responsive flex characteristics. Combine with large, soft wheels, and you’ve got an absolute cruising machine that will suck up road vibrations and keep you going all day long.
GRAPHICS – The “Whale” graphic is designed by Rafa Alvarez.
RECOMMENDED SETUP
Pantheon Trip deck
Pantheon x Valkyrie Cast 150mm 50° trucks
Pantheon Karma 92mm 78a wheels
Pantheon Precision Spaced Bearings or Zealous Classic
1/16” shock pads
Button or Pan head hardware (1”-1.25″)
COMPLETE SETUP – Our favorite complete pairs Valkyrie 150mm 50° cast trucks with our 102mm Hoku wheels. This setup offers excellent stability while still turning easily when riding one-footed—an absolute must for a board designed around pushing. Turns feel supported, and overall agility can be tuned through bushing choice and rider weight. The stock bushings are a great starting point for most riders and should remain bite-free for nearly everyone except the heaviest or most aggressive carvers.
We designed the Trip around a slim setup, most commonly pairing it with 150mm trucks and tall, narrow wheels like the 92mm Karma or 102mm Hoku. A narrower setup significantly reduces the chance of accidentally kicking a wheel while pushing, since it allows your push foot to land closer to your center of gravity. In our experience, this feels both more powerful and more efficient.
Riders who prefer a deeper carve can opt for wider trucks, which allow softer bushings and a looser overall feel. This will come at the expense of making a wider overall track width and reducing some of that push efficiency.
An important note about setup: Only the Valkyrie 150mm can be paired with our 102mm Hokus, as the axle placement in relation to the bolt holes accounts for the extra wheel height. You will get wheelbite running most other trucks with wheels this large and typically will max out with our 92mm Karma wheels.
