Loaded Boards – Vanguard 21-Year Limited Edition 38″ – Complete

Loaded 21 Year Vanguard
Finally Legally Loaded

Well folks, we did it. We made it to 21. And to party, we revisited a classic, one of the first true fully-loaded longboards.

This limited-edition run of 250 hand-numbered boards celebrates Loaded’s 21st anniversary with original artwork by Travis Parr. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to the Center For Humane Technology, which strives to align technology with humanity’s best interests for improved attention, well-being, and communities.

The Vanguard longboard brings lightweight snowboard-inspired construction and performance to the pavement. Camber, sidecuts, and high-energy flex allow for responsive carving, pumping, and commuting. 21 years and still flexing.

Available in a single length and flex (equivalent to a standard Vanguard flex 3). This special complete setup is specced with larger wheels and upgraded bushings for an extra lively and flowy ride.

This limited-edition longboard is available in select shops worldwide. We will not be producing more, so if you want it come and get it. We’ll also be using this launch to celebrate our history, our friends, and our future. Visit the Loaded blog to learn more and check out our podcast!

IT’S RIGHT FOR YOU IF…

You’re a snowboarder and want to take the powder turns to the streets.
You want a roomy, comfortable platform with high-energy flex.
You want to ride (or showcase) a piece of history—it’s the original Loaded carving system!

LONGBOARD SPECS

Length: 38″ / 96.5 cm
Width: 8.5″ / 21.6 cm
Wheelbase: 31.5″ / 80.0 cm
Profile: camber
Flex: flexy
Weight (deck only): 2.7 lb / 1.2 kg
Available in a single length and flex (equivalent to a standard Vanguard flex 3 140-200+ lb / 64-90+ kg)

SPECIAL COMPLETE — This special complete setup is specced with larger wheels and upgraded bushings for an extra lively and flowy ride.

● Trucks: Paris V3 180mm 50° (polished)
● Wheels: Orangatang 80mm Kegel (80a, orange)
● Bushings: Orangatang Knuckles (soft, orange)
● Bearings: Loaded Jehu V2
● Hardware: Loaded button head (1′′)

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN — Tapered tips and pronounced cutouts maximize wheel clearance for deep carves and tight turns. Sidecuts reduce torsional stiffness between the feet for greater nuances in the turning radius. Mild concave provides edge-to edge control, while the topmount and cambered platform provides energetic carving performance.

CURVACEOUS CONFIDENCE — Lightweight, snowboard inspired bamboo and fiberglass construction pair with a cambered profile for a lively and engaging ride.

SUPER SAP — Bio-based epoxy by Entropy Resins. Uses bio-based materials from industrial waste streams such as tree sap to replace petroleum content and reduce the carbon footprint of the epoxy from manufacturing. We’ve worked closely with Entropy to enhance every major performance characteristic of the resin. Better for the planet, even more fun.

HISTORY & GRAPHIC — The initial Vanguard was launched in June of 2002 using snowboard technology with a vertically laminated oak deck and a triaxial fiberglass/epoxy composite construction. Bringing snowboarding to the pavement. We pioneered bamboo composites with the Vanguard in 2006 and transitioned the rest of our lineup to bamboo in 2007. When we launched we originally didn’t have much of a graphic because it was technology driven (and also because we didn’t have the resources to do art well at that point). In 2004 we launched a graphic version of the board designed by our longtime friend Travis Parr (Travis is a ripping skater, snowboarder and an amazing artist. He’s designed a bunch of boards for Victoria Skimboards and is the co-founder and art director for Icelantic Skis). However, the graphics on these boards were very limited by the technology at the time. We’re now celebrating our 21-year anniversary with this hand-numbered, limited-edition Vanguard using cutting-edge direct printing technology on bamboo veneers with artwork created from Travis’ original painting.

Loaded Boards – Symtail – Deck

Loaded Boards – Symtail – Deck

PARTY IN THE FRONT. PARTY IN THE BACK.

We proudly present: The Loaded Symtail.

Staying true to Loaded’s foundational passion for carving and pumping in a lively flex-camber profile, the Symtail also empowers riders to explore freestyle and dancing maneuvers with its symmetrical shape and nose and tail kicks.

It’s a classic concept for a contemporary carver looking to pump and flow through parking garages, city streets, back roads, and anywhere in between.

• Width: 8.75″ / 22.2 cm
• Wheelbase: 27″ / 68.6 cm
• Profile: camber
• Flex: flexy
• Weight (deck only): 2.7 lb / 1.2 kg

DISCIPLINES: Carving, Pumping, Dancing, Freestyle

FLEX RECOMMENDATIONS
Flex 1: 170-270+ lb / 77-122+ kg
Flex 2: 125-215+ lb / 57-98+ kg

COMPLETE SETUP
• Deck: Loaded Symtail
• Trucks: Paris V3 165mm 50°
• Wheels: Orangatang 70mm 4President (80a, orange)
• Bearings: Loaded Jehu V2
• Hardware: Loaded button head (1″)

IT’S RIGHT FOR YOU IF…
You want a lively carving and pumping experience in Loaded’s classic flexy camber construction.
You have an active riding style and want your board to return every bit of energy that you put in.
You like to mix up your turns with some dancing and freestyle flavor.

DESIGN EVOLUTION — The Symtail carries on the board model family heritage that began with the Pintail in 2004 and later became the Fattail in 2011. As dancing and freestyle became increasingly intertwined with carving and pumping, the original board’s once-minimalist tail grew iteratively larger and more function driven with the Fattail and has now sprouted a fully symmetric nasal counterpart with the Symtail in 2024.

FUNCTIONAL DESIGN — The Symtail’s outline shape is designed for a finely tuned and even flex. Mild concave braces your feet for quick carving, while the topmount camber platform provides responsive performance tailored toward an active riding style. Twin-taper shape with generous wheel cutouts provides ample turning leverage while maximizing clearance for loose trucks, deep turns, and a wide range of wheel sizes. The mellow upturned nose and tail feature additional fiberglass reinforcement for stiffer response in freestyle tricks.

COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION — The Symtail is built with Loaded’s classic snowboard-style composite construction. A vertically laminated bamboo core with triaxial fiberglass skins make the deck light and durable with a lively flex that’s perfect for hard carving and pumping. We also added a top layer of cork for vibration damping and a smoother ride.

SETUP — Our standard build for the Symtail complete includes Paris 165mm 50° trucks and 70mm 80a Orangatang 4President wheels.

SUPER SAP — The Symtail features bio-based epoxy by Entropy Resins which uses bio-based materials from industrial waste streams such as tree sap to replace petroleum content and reduce the carbon footprint of the epoxy from manufacturing. We’ve worked closely with Entropy to enhance every major performance characteristic of the resin. Better for the planet, even more fun.

GRAPHIC — The Symtail graphic represents the latest iteration of an ongoing functional and artistic exploration initiated by the Pintail and continued in to the Fattail.

The original Pintail graphic was designed by Jamie Engelman in 2004 as a meditation on change and growth. It was re-imagined more abstractly by Jan Michael Bennett in 2007 when we switched the Pintail from oak to bamboo.

The Fattail graphic (2011), designed by Nana Studio based on drawings by Daisuke Okamoto, built upon these themes, referencing the past while venturing forward.

Now, with the Symtail, Nana Studio curated original artwork by Daisuke Okamoto, taking the narrative another step forward. The Symtail stands as a testament to the continuous journey of growth and transformation, an inspiration to strive for our own individual fulfillment and embrace the interconnectedness of life. The seed has blossomed into a magnificent tree, embodying the ultimate aspirations of life:

Deep Roots: A firm foundation, grounded in experience and wisdom.
Solid Core: Strength, unyielding in the face of adversity.
Broad Branches: Reaching out, exploring the vastness of the universe, engaging with life in all its richness.

The Symtail stands as a testament to the continuous journey of growth and transformation, an inspiration to strive for our own individual fulfillment and embrace the interconnectedness of life.

Professor Hildenberger is currently too busy selling knock-off Dune 2 collectors edition popcorn buckets, so our very own Juhyeok Park is filling in to walk you through every thing you need to know about the new Loaded Symtail.

Juhyeok expounds that the Symtail seed has blossomed into a magnificent tree, embodying the ultimate aspirations of life: deep roots for a firm foundation, a solid core for strength, and broad branches reaching out to engage with life, in all its richness.

He’s really into metaphors, so check it out!

Video

What drives the artist to create? When creation and creativity are entwined in the fabric of the artist, can one separate the art from the artist, or are they tied together infinitely until the end?

Symtale dives into these questions and more with Loaded ambassador and Symtail muse Ari Chamasmany. Pulling back the layers to see what inspires him and how community, creation, and skateboarding are all in balance in his life and pushing him forward. By zooming in on the subject, filmmaker Ethan Cochard shows us that inventiveness, expressiveness, and ingenuity of one is very much a product of the many.

Balance and symmetry, forever in tandem, skating boldly into the future.

Loaded – Fathom Complete – 105mm 80a Dad Bods

Loaded X G-Bomb Fathom Complete Zee Bracket Mounting System With Paris 150mm and 105mm 80a Dad Bods Complete

THE LAST MILE (OR EVERY MILE).
Introducing the Loaded Fathom, the longboard that blurs the boundaries of what a skateboard can be.

The Fathom is one of the easiest boards to ride in the world and a ton of fun. Built around the new Loaded Zee Bracket truck mounting system. With large wheels and a low ride height, the Fathom reimagines soulful commuting and urban exploration.

IT’S RIGHT FOR YOU IF…

You want a compact board that’s easy and fun to ride—for novices and seasoned skaters alike.
You’re looking for a low ride height for effortless pushing and footbraking and a wide deck that provides a forgiving, stable platform.
You appreciate having huge wheels that coast forever and plow over bumps and cracks.

LONGBOARD SPECS
• Length: 33″ / 83.8 cm (complete), 23″ / 58.4 cm (deck)
• Width: 9.25″ / 23.5 cm
• Wheelbase: 26.5″ / 67.3 cm (complete), 17.25″ / 43.8 cm (deck)
• Profile: slight camber
• Flex: subtle
• Weight: 9.6 lb / 4.4 kg (Dad Bod), 8.4 lb / 3.8 kg (Caguama), 3.1 lb / 1.4 kg (deck)
• Designed for riders up to 250 lb / 113 kg under normal use. Riders 250-300 lb / 113-136 kg should minimize aggressive pumping.

COMPLETE SETUP
• Bracket: Loaded Zee Bracket (NEW)
• Trucks: Paris V2 150mm 50° (raw)
• Wheels: Orangatang 105mm Dad Bod (80a, orange)
• Bearings: Loaded Jehu V2
• Hardware: Loaded (two sets: 1.25″ at deck, 1″ at trucks)

SPEED
The Fathom is built for speed and momentum. With its large (up to 105mm) wheels and agile trucks, this board bridges the gap between board and bike, easily reaching and sustaining commuting speeds that surpass the comfort zone of conventional skateboards. Get a good workout, explore the roads less traveled, or get to class/work without breaking a sweat. It’s up to you.

CONTROL
The Fathom is stable and easy to control, even at high commuting speeds. The low ride height provides stability and ease of pushing and footbraking. The wide deck further enhances confidence, while upturned deck corners reduce the chance of footbite.

FUN
Double-drop brackets and relatively narrow trucks make this board surprisingly responsive and agile. A board with wheels this size has no right to turn this well.

TWO SETUPS
Includes Paris 150mm trucks and your choice of 105mm Dad Bod (80a orange) or 85mm Caguama (77a blue) wheels. The Dad Bod setup is a blast to ride, carries massive momentum, and can go over anything for easy cruising. The Caguama setup is a fun, approachable alternative, providing quick acceleration and a lower stance. Here at Loaded we vastly prefer to ride the Dad Bod setup because of its epic rollover power.

CONSTRUCTION
Featuring 8-ply maple construction, slight camber for road-smoothing suspension, and lifted corners (with more aggressive grip tape) to lock in your feet and reduce the chance of foot bite. Large enough for comfort but compact enough to carry on public transportation and stow under your desk.

GRAPHIC
To evoke the spirit of adventure and exploration, the current graphic was inspired by the historic Polynesian expansion and their mind-boggling ocean navigation. Nanastudio created this collage based on Polynesian ships and artifacts.

Built around the Zee Bracket

This proprietary composite bracket (designed exclusively for Loaded by our friends, the wizards at G/Bomb Skateboards) allows us to build unique and functional next-gen skate vehicles with double-drop (drop-through and drop-down) truck mounting.

Two Zee Brackets add 9.25″ / 23.5 cm to deck wheelbase
Designed for riders up to 250 lb / 113 kg under normal use. Riders 250-300 lb / 113-136 kg should minimize aggressive pumping.

Loaded Fathom – For the Last Mile (Or Every Mile)

Flatspot has always been a fan of the push! Maybe you’ve heard? #WalkingIsForChumps! From commuting around town to long paths in the woods of North Vancouver, we even skated across a country. We just love to be out on a board. Over the years we’ve tried a lot of things. We chased those long treks on Demonseeds, we snubbed up 35 inch switchblades with tkps, and we’ve been cutting custom platform decks for brackets for as long as there have been brackets. Having the gear that makes your distance melt away makes all the difference. There really isn’t a need to struggle with that anymore. Introducing the Loaded Fathom and G-Bomb Zee Bracket. Loaded has worked to offer a new light weight, super strong, cost effective bracket system that lets you use easy to access parts like Paris Trucks and Orangatang wheels.. and the Loaded Fathom platform of course!… to build a personalized setup thats going to keep you pushing and pumping all day long. We’ll make another post to go into more details about the Zee bracket itself and all the DIY options, but lets look at the full package, the Loaded Fathom Complete option, first! // read more
