Attack of Danger Bay is an iconic annual longboarding festival organized by Coast Longboarding’s Bricin Lyons and held in Pender Harbour, British Columbia. Taking place May 14 -20, it brings together riders from around the world for Downhill racing, the Slide competition, the Egmont grind, Skate hockey tournament and the Jake’s rash freeride and race. Known as the longest-running and most influential downhill competition, it blends high-speed racing with a strong community atmosphere. More than just a race, Attack of Danger Bay is a celebration of longboard culture, creativity, and the global skate community.

We believe that more innovation is needed in the development and construction of longboards. And we try to set a good example. For years there have been two ways for wedging the rear foot. Either you use a torque block or you ride a board with a wedge pressed into the back. However, the torque block is difficult to attach and you stand on a soft foam. In addition, it generates a kink at the transition between the board and the foam. Boards with a pressed wedge have a smoother transition and you have direct contact with the board. But you need wedges to bring the rear truck back to 0° and longer hardware is also necessary. That makes things a bit complicated again.

To solve all these problems we developed the Rhino Racetail. The largest part of the board consists of 7 layers of maple and is reinforced with fibers. In the rearmost part, another 6 layers are additionally pressed in between. This results in a very natural feeling wedge in the board. And don’t worry, we kept the thick part to a minimum. So you hardly feel any additional weight.

All this results in the perfect racing machine for us. No foam, just direct board contact. Plastic wedges are no longer necessary. And because the holes are drilled wider at the top, no longer hardware is needed. This is the most direct and effortless connection between board and truck. And the transition to the racetail is also absolutely fluid.

The Rhino is also available in the standard version and with a Kicktail.

Powell Peralta – OG Rat Bones Olive Green – 10in x 30in

The Vato Rat was created by artist Craig Stecyk. Coming from the Santa Monica Dogtown “Z-Boy” surf-skate scene of the 1970’s, Stecyk was surrounded by Hispanic gang culture and graffiti. At the time he was airbrushing a lot of Zephyr surfboards and blended that influence into his work. The Vato Rat was one of the many symbols he used to decorate surfboards and generally mark territory at local surf spots. In 1983 Stacy Peralta decided to bring the Vato Rat back as a Powell-Peralta graphic. They called it “Rat Bones” and it was used in advertising, on decks, stickers and T-shirts.

Rocket Longboards – 10th Anniversary Phoenix Tristan Cardillo Pro Model – Deck

The Phoenix is a race board with some freeride influences. We designed it together with former Junior European champion Tristan Cardillo. The board features a unique 2-step drop profile. Behind the front foot starts a second drop which creates two w-concave pockets to lock in your back foot. It’s difficult to explain but feels great under your feet.

Thanks to the combination of wheel flares and cnc’d wheelwells, this board has a great wheel clearance to rock some big race wheels even on narrow trucks. Various wheelbase options give you maximum freedom to dial in your setup.

The 2023 version is slightly stiffer and features a more durable and responsive construction. With the additional, shorter wheelbase option at the front, you can stand closer to the front truck. This gives you even more control at speed.
