Flatspot Longboards – Carbon Flight

The Carbon Flight board isn’t full of bells and whistles, just quality materials and simple design.

The Carbon Flight is the archetypal topmount. Its not packed with features, and its not a super complex design. The simplicity of this board is its strong suite. First of all, its genuinely a top mount. Not a flushmount, or micro drop, or a micro radial flush mount with rocker. This board is quite literally top mounted. Look for yourself! Its flat and has a mellow tub concave.

But this seemingly simple board also has some baller construction. Namely, carbon fibre. Did you know that we are carbon based creatures? Some biologists speculate that silicon based life can exist. ANYWAY, carbon fibre can also be arranged into strands that can be woven into sheets which have incredible tensile strength. This board is filled with the stuff. Which means that Sector 9 could use less maple in the layup, and ultimately make a much thinner and stronger board.

For all you smaller footed, and maybe younger riders out there. This board would be a great freeride or downhill option. At 9″ wide it will work well with smaller feet. With a length of 36” and function standing platform of equal length the board allows for a wide stance, which is valuable for freeriding.
