Pro Tribute Set Up: Nate Blackburn

Nate Blackburn may not be on every single podium, but he is a professional in every sense of the word! And today we are gonna pick apart his set up.

Nate Blackburn is the man behind Omen Longboards and Free Wheel Co. He runs events, coordinates a extensive team, prototypes and designs products, manages to sell said products, and still finds time to get on the occasional podium. Some professional riders are Pro’s because they win, Nate is a pro because he makes winning possible.

Paris Trucks – Savants

Nate has been rocking the new Paris savants and putting them to the test. If Nate can’t bend them, no one can. The paris savants have a few nice new features in them, and we have been doing our best not to drool on them since they arrived.

Omen Longboards – Patriot and Chief

The Omen Patriot is a fitting board for Nate, as he does truly love his home country. The Omen Patriot is a tank of a top-mount. This board has no idea what flex is and will never do anything remotely like it. Which is great when you are 6’3″ and have a well developed race belly. But even if you aren’t 6’3″ this board is rad. Its simple, well constructed, and the price is right.

If he is going to be going mach 10, you will likely see Nate rocking a Omen Chief. Which handles like a dream at speed.

Free Wheel Co. – Free Ballins and Loaders

Free Wheel Co. has been crushing it on the coast. The free ballins are sideset, with a very supportive core, stone ground surface, and super consistent slide. It hits all the marks of a high quality freeride wheel you would expect, and its urethane is fantastic, you wont be flatspotting these anytime soon.

As for gripping – the Free Loader is Nate’s wheel of choice. It comes in the same urethane and core as the Free Ballins, but in a aggressively grippy and centerset shape.

        Longboard Larry – Toe Tickler

One thing that Nate has that no one can deny, is a beautiful moustache. It reminded us of the longboard larry Toe Tickler foot stop. To tickle your toes with a moustache-esque toe stop follow this link!

Puke Tape – Not for Sale

During our adventures at the Kamloops Longboard Park, Nate and his Quebexican cohort developed a revolutionary way to keep your feet on your board: Shot-gun eight beers and puke all over your friends grip tape. While this product is not for sale, you are always welcome to make some DIY Puke Tape (this grip tape is 19+ only). Watch the full edit for a in detail explanation.
